Parrish Bull Sharks Swim Team

All new swimmers interested in joining the swim team must sign up for one of our upcoming tryouts through the link below. All returning swimmers interested in rejoining the team need to email info@theswimschoolfl.com or call 941-981-5716 for information on how to rejoin.

Location

The Parrish Bull Sharks swim team is located at the Lincoln Aquatic Center, 715 17th St. E Palmetto, Florida 34221.

Tryouts

Come join our team! We are a year round swim team with four program levels based on age and ability. All interested participants must register for and complete one of our available tryout sessions. There is no fee to tryout for the team. Each tryout session will take approximately one hour.

Minimum Requirement: Each child must be able to swim at least one full individual length without stopping (25 yards) of each of the four competitive swim strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly) to be eligible for participation on the team. Each stroke will be demonstrated at the tryout prior to having the children attempt them.

Pricing

There is a $100 Registration/Apparel Fee per swimmer. As part of this fee, each swimmer will receive one team swimsuit, cap, t-shirt, water bottle and drawstring bag.
A recurring monthly fee will be applied on the 1st of each month per swimmer based on their assigned program level. A multiple child discount of 10% will be applied when applicable. The monthly fees are based on the current practice schedule frequency and duration.

  • White Team: Mon/Wed/Fri 4:30PM-5:15PM OR 5:45PM-6:30PM & Sat 9:30AM-10:15AM
  • Goal: 2-3 practices per week
  • Gray Team: Mon/Wed/Fri 4:30PM-5:30PM OR 5:30PM-6:30PM, Tues 6:30PM-7:30PM (Swim Clinic) & Sat 9:30AM-10:30AM
  • Goal: 3-4 practices per week
  • Blue Team: Mon/Wed/Fri 5:00PM-6:30PM, Tues/Thurs 5:00AM-6:30AM, Tues 6:30PM-7:30PM (Swim Clinic) & Sat 9:30AM-11:00AM
  • Goal: 4-5 practices per week

Summer Practice Schedule

Runs June 3rd-August 3rd and practices are offered five days per week for all practice levels
  • White Team: Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs/Fri 9:15AM-10:00AM
  • Goal: 2-3 practices per week
  • Gray Team: Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs/Fri 8:00AM-9:15AM
  • Goal: 3-4 practices per week
  • Blue Team: Mon/Tues/Wed/Thurs/Fri 8:00AM-10:00AM

Swim Instruction Parrish

Coaches

  • Courtney was born and raised in Bradenton, Florida. She moved to Parrish in 2020. She has been swimming practically her whole life. Courtney started in group lessons at the Lakewood Ranch YMCA, then eventually joined the Y’s year round competitive program. She also swam for Lakewood Ranch High School and was a captain of the team her senior year. Now Courtney swims for leisure and exercise. She taught swim lessons at the Lakewood Ranch YMCA from 2011-2021, working with all ages and skill levels. She graduated from the University of South Florida in 2018 with a degree in Secondary English Education. She currently teaches 9th Grade English and also coaches the swim team at Parrish Community High School. She enjoys helping swimmers learn new skills, accomplish their goals, and inspiring them to have a lifelong love for swimming.
  • Rebekah was born and raised in Kansas and started swimming in a summer league at the age of six. Throughout her teen and college years, she spent all her summers competing, teaching swimming lessons and lifeguarding. For a few years, she also trained for triathlons and completed a Half Ironman which included a little over a mile of open water swimming in the Gulf. Rebekah moved to Parrish, Florida over six years ago where she started a local small business. She has two daughters who are Parrish Bull Sharks swim team members. She is also the Head Swim Coach at Palmetto High School. Rebekah hopes to instill her passion of the sport of swimming to others through coaching.
  • Stefanie grew up in Ohio and started swimming at the age of nine. She swam year round and still does now on the Clearwater Masters Team. She swam for Hiram College where she earned a bachelors degree in Communications in 2007. Over the years, Stefanie has coached numerous teams and taught swimming in several states including Ohio, California, Georgia and Florida. Her love for swimming comes from her mother who was a coach for 26 years. She is currently a working mom of six children and loves to spend time with her family. Stefanie enjoys helping children fall in love with the sport of swimming like she has.
  • Paul Sochin is a USA and NFC certified swim coach with over 27 years of experience as a competitive swim coach/instructor and 10 years as a diving coach. He started under the mentorship of legendary Olympic and Yale University Coach, Frank Feefe. Paul is a graduate from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a bachelor’s degree in veterinary sciences and a minor in exercise science. While living in Southbury Connecticut, he served 10 years as Head Coach of the Southbury Sharks Swim Team consisting of 175 age group swimmers ages 5 to 21. Paul was also Head Coach of the Pomperaug Regional High School boys swimming, diving & strength training teams. These teams combined amassed several league, regional, and state championships including numerous league and state records. Paul moved to Florida in 1996 and continued coaching swimming at The Longboat Key Club & Resort. In 2019, he joined the Sarasota Tsunami Swim Team as a lead coach where he remained until 2024. Since 2021, Paul has also been Head Swim Coach of the Braden River High School boys and girls swimming & diving team. Coach Paul is excited to share his knowledge and help develop the swimmers as a valuable member of the Bull Sharks Swim Team!
  • Molli was born and raised in Palmetto, Florida and started swimming competitively when she was six years old. She swam year round on a local club team for several years and also competed for the Manatee High School swim team. For consecutive years as a Junior and Senior, Molli qualified for the Florida High School State Championships in the 500 yard freestyle event. After graduating high school, she attended Indian River State College for two years and graduated in 2023 with her associates degree in Arts. While a student at IRSC, Molli was also a member of the swim team. As a freshman, she won the 200 Yard Butterfly event at the NJCAA Swimming & Diving National Championships. Molli is very excited to join the Bull Sharks swim team and can’t wait to start coaching!
