Seahorse Level (Preschool Intermediate)

3-5 Years

Intermediate level course focusing on continued development of fundamental aquatic skills including holding the breath to retrieve submerged objects, returning to the wall unassisted after jumping in the water, and independent back floating. Additional swimming skills taught include basic front stroke with face in water taking regular breaths as needed and using big over water arm strokes independently, basic back stroke unassisted, and use of the swim-float-swim safety technique. Emphasis placed on building strength and stamina with the strokes and increasing the distance of independent swimming as required to advance toward the Starfish Level (Preschool Advanced). Prerequisites: Successful completion and graduation from Shrimp Level (Preschool Beginner) or equivalence of skills. Class Maximum Instructor to Student Ratio- 1:4
