Parent and Infant-Toddler Beginner Level

A water adjustment course where infants and toddlers are introduced to the water environment and learn basic water skills through songs and structured play with a parent or trusted adult in the water for support and encouragement. Fundamental aquatic skills are taught including getting wet, splashing, blowing bubbles on the surface of the water, arm action, leg action, entering and exiting the water assisted, jumping in the water assisted, passing from parent to instructor, assisted submerging, assisted back floating and in-water exploration. Emphasis placed on becoming comfortable in the water and learning the basic swimming skills required to advance toward the Parent and Toddler Advanced Level. Children must wear swim diapers if not yet potty trained. This is not an infant survival course. Prerequisites: Must be at least 6 months old and have sufficient head control to enroll.
